Summary
Since air was constantly present, the human body wouldn’t take a constant note of it. They would go about their day busy with something else. But a few moments without it, only then would anybody notice.
Just like air, she was always just living among them.
Only during cases of emergency will they look for her presence. If not for a sense of duty and guilt, the village chief wouldn’t have taken measures to make sure she was still among them. Still from time to time, the elders would make sure she was thriving. Children rarely make a notice of her. When they do, they would be discouraged to come near her. For fear of her curse passing onto them.
Still, she was the lioness’ friend.
Kuuki had the inability to speak and was the mute of their village, clingy to her only friend Kohaku,
And the air they all breathe.

She was tired. Flying all the way to Japan to escape with her caretaker, she tries to blend in like any other ordinary fifteen year old. Forget the ordinary part though, no use changing her usual poker face. Enrolling herself to that school was a mistake. But, the bigger mistake was letting herself fall in that isolated class in the mountains.
