It seems to crackle and pulse with energy, its facets reflecting the light of the cave unlike anything he's ever seen on Hoxxes before. “You seein’ this?”
“Barely.” The transmitted audio crackles slightly. “Could you get a closer look?”
“Sure, but if I get some weird-ass space disease, it’s on your conscience.”

Kris was done. They weren't going to tolerate the interdimensional invader in their ribcage any longer. And if they had to open a fountain to get rid of it, they were going to.
Or at least, they were. Until that invader offered something new: the chance to remember between resets. To make their own decisions with nothing more than some minor advice and a helping hand if requested. Naturally, Kris was interested. And that's why they woke up on Thursday morning, remembering two days that technically hadn't happened yet.
Messing with the code can be delicate work. Do the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the bridge might just break. Or change fundamentally.
