Summary
Robby has a good half hour to palm himself and drink water and overthink Whitaker’s arrival before he actually arrives: the kid is probably going to be shaking like a leaf, all big eyes and nervous and daddy, what should I do, and if he’s honest Robby’s a little disappointed with the inevitability of it. He’s done that, plenty of times. And yeah, it’s Whitaker, so that’s inherently interesting, but Robby somehow, somewhere, in the bowels of his subconscious had expected something different. It doesn’t matter. The knock comes, sharp and quick. He tries to summon the electricity that had crackled between them in the bar. It’s still wrong, it’s still exciting. He tells his cock that, then opens the door.
What he finds isn’t a shaking leaf, but a snarling dog.
“You gonna let me in?” Whitaker snaps, sounding nothing like Nebraska.

Summary
“Wouldn’t have thought you needed another father figure,” Robby tosses out, letting it land.
“Oh my god. It’s different than you,” Whitaker protests. “Obviously.”
“Obviously.” Robby taps out a rhythm on his pint glass. “So tell me what’s so different about me and him.”
Robby finds out about Whitaker and Park. He has some totally reasonable questions.

Summary
Dennis throws down his phone and says, “Don’t call them? The people who just want to help you? Don’t call the place that you were going to just, just abandon all by itself and not even think twice about how the department would survive, the only place that really knows you, that understands you and you were just going to leave me?”
Robby’s eyes go liquid. He covers his mouth with his hand.
“It,” Dennis says, too late.

Summary
And Dennis is already attuned to Robby’s smallest move, can pick out his tics as effectively as Dana can and with his hand inside of Dennis, he thinks he can feel Robby’s blood moving faster. A fine tremble, absorbed by the hug of Dennis’ body.
“They say it shouldn’t hurt,” Robby chats, transparently uncasual, “if you do it right—”
“It doesn’t,” Dennis says quickly. “It doesn’t hurt at all.”
“I’ve got another hand,” Robby jokes, hammy smile, eyebrows raised, “if you were looking for something bigger.”
“I don’t need anything bigger,” Dennis says, and Robby’s face crumples.
Robby thinks he’s in charge. Dennis isn’t so sure.

Summary
Dennis has never really noticed what the locker room sounds like. Unintelligible conversation from the hallway, faint beeping from the floor, a squeaky pipe yelling somewhere above them. All of it’s background noise compared to the sound of Robby inhaling his shirt, his breath catching on an almost sound, like something trapped behind bars.
Dennis legs feel like they evaporated. “What—”
“Might if I borrow this,” Robby says, voice cracking, almost as if he’s about to laugh but his face is ashen. His eyes are everywhere except for Dennis’ face. And before Dennis can answer or scream or drop to his knees, Robby’s jogging out the door.
“Sure!” Dennis says a minute later. “Have a good night!”
A zillion times Dennis fluffs Robby for Noelle, one time he doesn’t.

Summary
The first night after Robby leaves, Dennis sleeps in Robby's bed.
He tries not to think about it. It doesn't help that the sheets smell like Robby's laundry detergent, a smell Dennis doesn’t even know is familiar until he lays on the bed and the ghost of Robby rises up around him.
Something in his gut clenches tight and doesn't let go. He curls in on himself, breathing in deep for a long time. Lets the shame wash through him, the violence of the want, and doesn't move until it ebbs.

Summary
The elevator lurches once, then stalls. The emergency light flickers weakly, casting Robby and Whitaker in a dim, red glow before plunging them into near-total darkness. The only sound is their breathing—Whitaker’s still too fast, Robby’s measured, deliberate.
"You knew this might happen?" Whitaker asks.
"Yeah," Robby says. "Big storms like this fuck with the hospital's generators. We were lucky we got this far."
"Lucky," Whitaker echoes, the word coming out too soft.Robby and Whitaker get stuck in an elevator during a storm, and three weeks of tension catches up to them.

Summary
A key and favourite moment in the final chapter of @zacharybosch's fantastic fic Le Plaisir
I really enjoyed the challenge of working with the specific warm palette of red, purple, gold. Also loved applying their make-up :) and as Aviran007 said - making them look very- old Hollywood :))
