He asks tour guide San Lang, a friendly vampiric ghost native to the city, if he knows anyone looking for a personal blood donor, and San Lang-- who is definitely not a whole entire Ghost King-- jumps on that shit like white on rice. Summary
After Hua Cheng disappears in a flurry of silver butterflies, Xie Lian waits for his return. Rumours whisper across the land. Crimson Rain Sought Flower has returned and is ruling over Ghost City. And he doesn't remember Xie Lian at all.
“Did daozhang think he could come here, flash his enchanted eyes, and pull one over on the Ghost King?” Hua Cheng coos.
Xie Lian’s teeth begin to chatter. “My enchanted…my…aha—”
“I have never seen a performance quite like it in all my long years. Daozhang must be very experienced in getting his way just by fluttering his long lashes. But is he truly foolish enough to believe this act will work on me? Does he think I will fall for his tricks?”

Xie Lian gets a glimpse of its eye: a hot coal set deep into unearthly, marble-like skin, onyx pupil blown so wide with bloodlust it threatens to swallow the red iris entirely. A mouth full of entirely too many teeth, extended incisors bared like daggers. Rust smeared down the pale line of its throat.
A vampire. A feral vampire.
Looking at him like a feast set out before a starving man.
While wandering the mortal realm, Xie Lian stumbles upon a hungry vampire who, curiously, seems reluctant to drink from him.

Summary
Upon opening the door, Xie Lian sees Hua Cheng leaning against the doorway, an arm wrapped around his torso. He has a busted lip with blood coating the area, and is breathing heavily—manually—which is a sign he is not in full control of his body at the moment.
(Xie Lian would know this because upon the many nights the two have shared together, Hua Cheng always breathes heavily when he’s rather affected.)
“Hi, Gege. Sorry I’m late.” Hua Cheng offers a weak, crooked smile, his words coming out in a struggle.
Xie Lian’s arms immediately reach out to help support his husband, who seems to be failing under his own weight.
“San Lang! Are you okay? What happened to you? Come on, come sit.” Xie Lian says frantically, carefully pulling Hua Cheng into the shrine and seating him down on a chair.
