“Do you ever think about the future?” he asks, twirling one finger in an airy, open gesture. Xiao shakes his head and Venti huffs out a breath. “Humor me! What would you do if Morax strolled up tomorrow and said, ‘good work, my star disciple, your duty’s done'?”
The answer comes automatically. “So long as demons persist, my duty shall not end.”
Venti pulls his legs away, hugging his knees up to his chest. “Everything comes to an end someday,” he insists.
It is the nature of wind to scatter. Without his gnosis, Venti begins to unravel. -

But there are at least two people Aether knows who like cecilias. One of them is currently hiccuping through increasingly rowdy love ballads to uproarious applause and free-flowing wine at the Angel's Share; Aether knows this because he was just there, delivering an anonymous bouquet into a baffled Diluc's hands.
The other... well.
He could be anywhere, but... he’d vaguely mentioned returning to resupply the next long-term expedition, the last time Aether had seen him. He could be in Mondstadt. Tonight. On Valentine's day.

Summary
The Lawson he works at is a small one, slotted between an aging herbal pharmacy and a bookstore. It’s located just off the main street, and there’s a much bigger Family Mart two blocks away by the train station. Between the location, the narrow space, and limited stock, there usually isn’t much nighttime foot traffic, making it the perfect choice for a low-key part-time job, just enough extra cash to more comfortably offset the bills his athlete’s stipend mostly covers.
All in all, it’s usually pretty quiet and uneventful, and tonight is too until he hears a terrific crash, the soft plaps of a lot of stuff hitting the floor, and a muffled “Crap!”
Kazuya sighs, and goes to investigate.
Miyuki works part-time at a convenience store. Sawamura doesn't, but it works out anyway.

Two chairs drawn up to Hajime’s desk didn’t leave a lot of space, especially since they were both tall; Oikawa, the leggy bastard, had alternated between tangling his feet with Hajime’s, and childishly kicking him in the ankles whenever he’d been losing. It was funny then, but Hajime wished fervently now that he could get up, or at least stretch. They’d been streaming nearly nonstop for eight hours today, pressed shoulder-to-shoulder, knee-to-knee.
And then he could escape the gloating that was definitely, one-hundred-percent positively about to take place.

A young god with his father’s wrath and his mother’s impetuousness, fuelled by his grandmother’s calculated spite. He thinks of the swathes of dead that disembark Charon’s ferry still shivering and huddled together as though their shades could hold warmth.
Perhaps the Zagreus who has grown up with cold eternal is as icy and cruel as Demeter herself. Perhaps he will bring nothing but strife. Olympian history is full of sons overthrowing their fathers, after all.

The soft hint of sympathy in her tone only made the dread within Than spread.
'Oh, gods,' he thought. 'What have I done?'
'Major Character Death' both in the sense that Death is the major character, and also, y'know, Zag. (a.k.a. this is what happens when hearing that gong when I didn’t expect to during a Pact of Punishment run gave me feelings, apparently).
I added the graphic violence tag warning just to be safe; it can be skipped without missing much context if you just want the ThanZag fluff!
