He snorted and threw a thumb toward Shadow.“That’s cause test tube baby over here doesn’t know what a good movie is.”
“Hey!”
“I don’t hear you disagreeing with me.”
Shadow grumbled and turned the other way. Sonic was probably right. He technically was a test tube baby. He growled as the neck of the other stretched and molded to the muscles underneath.
He wanted to bite it. Just give a little cronch to it.
Nothin harmful.
The ache that he felt in his fangs grew more and the persistent voice in the back of his mind grew louder.

He shook his head, a green flush filling his face. Okay nope nope nope.

Summary
It wasn’t often he was able to wake up like this. The blue hedgehog had a habit of waking up at the crack of dawn and shuffling out of Shadow's warm embrace to get his morning run in.
It wasn’t often Shadow got to compliment him either. No one had expected it but the blue hedgehog was shy. A total shocker when the two had first gotten together and Sonic blushed bright red after Shadow had called him pretty. He grinned at the memory.
But Sonic wasn’t shy with his body, no. That much was clear in the way he moved. Sonic was the breeze that hit the porch right before a tornado-producing storm came barreling down. Or the moon— especially when it was teased by the cover of fluffy gray clouds.
Shadow had many analogies for his lover, but to put it simply, Sonic was beautiful.

Shorty, a nickname bestowed upon him by Amy after he had grown 6 inches in sixth months. Sonic was sure his legs would never be the same, but more importantly:
He fucking hated it.
And Amy knew that.
He scowled at the nickname and crossed his arms while standing, “Don’t call me that.”
“Prove to me that you can flirt Shadow's socks off and maybe I’ll think about it.”
And dammit Sonic really didn’t want to go out and embarrass himself over the Ryan Reynolds of mobians but-
A small snicker came from Blaze and he growled.
He really hated that nickname.
Sonic narrowed his eyes and slowly nodded at Amy, “… I accept this offer.”
or, five times Sonic tried to flirt with Shadow and failed, +1 he was successful.

Because Sonic is so easy with his love. Gives it willingly and vulnerably, no hesitation present in his voice when he’s with his people.
“‘Kay,” Sonic says, smiling as he holds the phone up to his ear. His dumb little phone charm glints in the light as he swings it back and fourth, “Love ya, Ames! See you then.”
How, Shadow thinks, feeling his chest tighten and a flush grow on his face. He’s not even the one saying the word love, yet he feels embarrassed all the same. How do you do it so easily?
“Sorry, what was that?” Sonic turns back to look at him and-- Goddamnit are those fucking freckles when the fuck did he get those-- “Shads?”
I admire how vulnerable you are and I love you too, Shadow wants to say.
“Shut the fuck up,” He says instead, putting his hand directly on Sonic’s face, and trying to ignore the muffled giggles that speed up his heart.
