Summary
After finishing a less successful tour, Harry finds himself struggling with alcohol, drugs, and casual sex. He intends to clean up his act and enter rehab - just not yet. Then he meets the enigmatic Louis, whose looks and charm cut straight through Harry's numbness. But Louis proves to be a tougher challenge than Harry’s usual hookups. “You see…” Louis shifts his weight from one foot to the other. “…that’s where I still hesitate.”
“I want you so much, Louis."
“You want to sleep with me. I’m not sure you can handle the thought of not having done that yet. Or the one of being rejected.” Louis says, his voice neither challenging nor harsh - just probing.
“No. It’s more than that.” Harry’s voice is quiet but firm.
“What makes this any different from the endless hookups you’ve had all year?”

“What can’t you do, H?”
“Anything, Louis, I can’t do anything!” His voice is tortured and Louis has never felt so at a loss.
A little more than a year ago he would’ve been able to actually do something besides sitting here and watching Harry hurt without even knowing for sure why he is hurting. Louis would’ve pulled him in and kissed and fucked the sadness out of him. Louis would’ve known beforehand that Harry was hurting and wouldn’t have let it get to this point in the first place. Harry takes a deep breath and then slowly lets it out. He lifts his head and meets Louis’ eyes again.
“Do you think they could—” Harry stops, swallows dryly; Louis tilts his head to the side, silently urging him to go on. “Do you think they could forgive that someone, then? At some point?”
Louis just looks at him for a moment, quiet, contemplating. “I think maybe, in some ways, they already have,” he says finally, his voice soft.
