Percy noticed changes about his body and when he confronts his father, asking him what was wrong with him, all Poseidon had to offer was that it was 'perfectly normal for a child of the sea'.
What about being a boy and going through some kind of heat on the search for the perfect guy to knock him up was normal?!
Panicking about being, once again, a freak, he pulls away. Until Nico comes around to check on him.

Summary
After Sally married Gabe, Poseidon could hear his son's pain. Unlike in canon, the god doesn't turn a blind eye on the man abusing his former lover and his only demigod son, so he goes and gets Percy out of there.
But where would he be safe? Amphitrite would kill the child if Poseidon brought him down under the sea and everywhere else, he'd risk Zeus' wrath.
So Poseidon goes and asks Hades for a favor. To take the boy in and hide him in the underworld, shielded from the curious eyes of others. Hades agrees, under the condition that one day, Percy would marry one of Hades' children.
So Percy grows up in the underworld, raised and trained by Hades and his underworld council. When the Titan War approaches, Hades frees Nico and Bianca from the Lotus Hotel, but Hades' and Poseidon's deal changes so many more than just Percy's life. Bianca becomes the head huntress and Nico becomes a celebrated hero at Camp Half-Blood.
What happens when Hades sends Percy to camp, as his ambassador, to help Bianca and Nico in their quest for the Sea of Monsters...?- Language:

(this is basically a cut scene from Undiluted Love chapter 12 that I thought was a biiiiiiit too much but didn't wanna get rid of either, so now it's here :3 and since it's a one-off I made it even more unhinged-)

Summary
When the woman returned with the baby boy in her arms, Poseidon loomed over his shoulder and Dionysus somehow resisted the urge to scoff as he examined the baby boy. His uncle’s overprotective streak wasn’t ending anytime soon.
The boy’s hair was black, certain to be unruly. But the bigger issue was the eyes. The boy inherited his father’s sea green eyes and would instantly give him away. “The eyes have to go.”
Both the woman and Poseidon tense and the wine god doesn’t resist scoffing this time. “As in his eye color! Did you think I meant gouging his eyes out?!”
Or: In order to hide Percy’s true parentage, Poseidon convinces Dionysus to claim Percy instead.
