“Is there something going on with you two?” Levi asks.
“What do you mean?” Mikasa says, trying to play dumb but he doesn’t let her get away with it.
“You and Eren. You haven’t been getting along lately.”
“No, everything’s fine." She can tell from the quirk of Levi’s eyebrow that he thinks that’s bullshit. “He’s just going through a phase,” she adds, with a wave of her hand.
“Well, it’s a shitty phase so I hope he gets over it soon,” Levi says, wiping his hands on the apron Mikasa and Eren got him last year for his birthday. “And if anything was going on, you’d tell me, right?” He gives her a long lingering look whose scrutiny adheres to Mikasa’s skin like cling wrap, sticking to all the places where she’s gone wrong.
“Of course,” she lies.

Her pretty mouth pulls into a frown, but the eager shine of her eyes betrays her. She steps back as he crowds her, stopping only when her back meets a covered wagon, the white tarp stained with blood. Eren’s red hands find her hips and he effortlessly lifts her onto the ledge. He keeps his fingers near the tops of her thighs.
“You’re filthy,” she says. Their eyes lock. She regards him with a certain wariness, as though he’s temptation personified at her feet; a bad decision waiting to happen. Eren doesn’t mind. In fact, he’s always enjoyed playing into her worst expectations.

“Ditching your fiancé?” Asks the man with a marked crafty smile on his features. Mikasa can see how his green universes are covered with a luminous veil that shines almost blinding her.
“My fiancé prefers to talk with our friends instead of spending time with me.” She reproaches in disgust waving her thick black eyelashes as if trying to get used to the olive glow of his gaze.
“So, I guess you don't mind missing the party for a little while, right?” He proposes with a voice tinged with mischief.

At a party packed with wealthy people, Mikasa is too bored to try to function with the dynamics of that environment. Just when everyone seems to be minding their own business, someone suggests her to illegally escape, even if it is just for a few moments. Destiny? the Mustang car parked in the empty back lot.
