Vi is quite taken aback when she finds out her usually sweet daughter is getting into fights at school. That is, until she finds out it's on behalf of another student. While encouraging her daughter to make friends, rather than foes, Vi learns this new kid has a very handsome, very single, mother.

Summary

Caitlyn Kiramman was 18 when she started her career as a rookie officer. Daughter of a wealthy councilor and revered doctor, she never wanted a sheltered life. Losing her mother in the chaos, Caitlyn was lucky to make it out alive and spend the next few years living under government protection. Summary
Instead of wasting away as a drunk pitfighter after Caitlyn leaves her, Vi picks herself up and seeks refuge in the one familiar place she has left, only fighting when her brain itches for it.
After the fews days of being reunited with her family she is confronted with the choice of letting a barely alive Jinx be taken by Caitlyn and the enforcers or use whatever strength she has left in her to protect them.
And so Vi decides to pick Jinx and a severely injured Isha off the ground and carry them to safety on her own.

Jinx had been struggling with mental health issues for a while, and Vi noticed. Wanting to help her sister relax, Vi planned to take her to a shooting range. However, when Vi fell ill, Caitlyn offered to take Jinx instead. They ended up having a bonding moment, and afterward, Jinx began seeking Caitlyn out to hang out occasionally.
