Summary
Loki Laufeyson has had his fair share of lovers and admirers over the years. It's not a secret what happens after he disappears with someone he has had his eye on. But it was never particularly romantic, if anything it was merely physical. He always told himself he's too busy for an actual relationship. Kings are meant to rule, afterall, everything else would be distractions. Odin, for example, a man who used to lead crusades against all of the nine realms is now nothing more but a soft old man, sitting lazily on his throne while others do his work for him. Loki loves his mother, really, he does, but she has made the Allfather into nothing more but another senile man in a position of power.
In conclusion, to rule Asgard successfully, Loki had to commit to celibacy. Not like Loki wanted a healthy and loving relationship the first place. A partner was nothing more but a liability to him. An obstacle on the way to the throne. No other reason he doesn't want a significant other.
But what if he falls for someone anyways? What if someone manages to worm themselves into that cold, closed off heart of his regardless of how it would affect how he rules Asgard?
