a cute story i've been wanting to write forever. features omega/winged alec with alpha magnus, alec being the flock omega and the protective instincts that come with that, a look into the parabatai bond with alec's matebond, and alec and magnus being sweet mates that make me want to vomit. bit a of a slow burn in the beginning.

Summary
Soulmate AU with animals as representatives of the souls. Those with more than their own soul-representing animal on their skin have one or more soulmates wating for them. They also present as either an alpha or an omega, while those who only bear their own soul-animal are called betas.
In this world, Jace was one of the few with more than one mate mark. He used to have two. At least before Valentine, with his insane experiments, removed Jace's soulmarks. Now he appears to be just a beta.
Valentine used to tell him that soulmates would make him weak. That he was already weak and that his soulmates would be better off without him. When Jace watches how Alec first meets Magnus and the two fall into a beautiful, easy relationship, Jace knows his father was right. They are better off without him.
Magnus and Alec all the while think that their third is dead...
