Summary
“You want to head out?” Shouyou asks as soon as Kageyama is redressed and refreshed as well.
“Out?” Kageyama repeats, looking slightly confused.
Shouyou gnaws at his lip, a little bit of trepidation starting to sneak in under the excitement. “Yeah. We could go watch another sport – uhh, if there’s space – or go see the village, anything! We just won, don’t you want to go feel the buzz of being a winning Olympian?”
Kageyama hums, eyes still trained on the clock, before he shrugs a shoulder. “No,” he says simply, in that usual blunt way of his, “it’s too noisy.”
-
In which it's Hinata's first Olympics and he's so ready to experience it all with Kageyama right by his side, but it seems as though Kageyama is a little over the novelty of being an Olympian.

Summary
But Kageyama’s a cool dork, and Shouyou sort of wants to tell him this in a burst of emotion, but the words get stuck. “I want two by the way,” he says instead.
“Why do you get two?”
“Because I,” Shouyou says dramatically, “am your favourite.”
Then he rocks up onto his tippy toes so that he can reach Kageyama’s face, his body moving without consent from his brain. He plants a smooch – quick and playful – on Kageyama’s cheek, only just remembering to add a loud “mwah!” to make sure Kageyama knows that he’s only teasing.
-
In which Hinata gives Kageyama five kisses, without thinking much about it, and one where he does.

Summary
Now that they’re at a standstill, the temperature in the Corvette must be rising, getting steadily hotter, more suffocating. Sweat beads at Kageyama’s temple and Hinata stares, transfixed, as a drop slips down the side of his face, tracing the edges of his jaw before slipping down the column of his neck. Kageyama reaches up with one hand and hooks a finger at the collar of his shirt, pulling it away from his skin and flapping the sticky material a few times, shifting uncomfortably in his seat.
Hinata shifts in his own seat and swallows roughly. His car has air conditioning – because he’s not stupid – but suddenly it feels like it’s not working at all.
“Let’s take a water break!” he calls.
-
An extra for life is a highway: They're supposed to be spending the afternoon racing around the dirt track, but Kageyama's Corvette has no air conditioning, and Hinata gets just a little bit distracted.

Summary
Aone Takanobu knew what happened when you stood out, so he did his best not to. Unfortunately, he was basically the definition of standing out. Thankfully, in the first month of high school, nobody had taken much notice of him.
Back to school after Golden Week, something had changed: a tough-looking transfer student from Tokyo sitting next to him.
Aone wanted to keep his head down, but soon enough he'd learn that being friends with Futakuchi Kenji didn't make that easy.

Summary
Tobio used to worry, almost constantly, about his chronic incapability to link his words with his emotions, but Hinata doesn’t seem to care. He rises to every challenge, laughs when he thinks Tobio is funny, never hides nor runs away. He seeks Tobio out beyond just looking for tosses, seems to thrive more in his company than he does with anyone else.
And Tobio is not immune. Is not infallible to Hinata’s whims and charms, and so perhaps it’s inevitable that his heart makes its way into Hinata’s chest.

Summary
“Fuck, you’re pretty, Shouyou-kun,” Atsumu blurts.
It takes a solid two minutes before his alcohol riddled mind processes what he just said.
Well. That’s just fantastic. There goes his nice, friendly relationship with his favourite spiker, floating out of the window, never to be seen again. Even though Atsumu is right – because Shouyou is indeed fucking stunning – that’s not the sort of thing you say to one’s teammate… friend… friend-teammate-spiker-friend or whatever it is exactly that Shouyou is these days.
-
In which Miya Atsumu really just wanted to set for Hinata Shouyou. And spend time with him. And ogle his chest a bit.
Then it gets complicated.

Summary
“What’s wrong with you?” Kageyama says.
Shouyou lowers his hands and tries squinting open his eyes slowly so that he can appear sleepy instead of straining against the sunlight now fully streaming in through the windows. But then it feels like someone has rammed a screwdriver against his temple and he scrunches them closed again. He can feel the slight dip in the mattress where Kageyama is shifting and, oh, he’s being really suspicious-
“Headache,” he finally manages to grunt. It’s sort of tempting to just burrow into his boyfriend’s sleep-warm body and whine for some comfort, but then that would be admitting that there’s a problem in the first place.
And Shouyou really doesn’t want Kageyama to know about the migraines.

In which Hinata gets migraines, Kageyama is suspicious, and honesty is always the best policy.

Summary
“So you’re looking to be married, is that right?” the man asks, his gappy, toothy grin spreading even wider.
Shouyou lets out a little coo as he gazes at the rings. Luck is real! He can practically feel his eyes bulging in his head as he slaps Kageyama’s stomach behind him with the back of his hand. “Kageyama! Kageyama! Rings!”
Kageyama shuffles around – probably partly to escape Shouyou’s thwacking hand – to stand by his side instead, leaning down to peer at the small velvet box. “Rings,” he says, eloquently.
“Is that a yes?” the man needles.
“Nnnyes,” Kageyama replies, before Shouyou can, his words slurred between confirming and denying.
Shouyou elbows him irritably. “Pick a side!” he hisses. “Don’t you wanna be volleyball married?”
-
In which Hinata and Kageyama get incredibly drunk during a night out with Team Japan in the week leading up the Olympics. They wake up the next morning apparently having gotten married - complete with matching rings that, no matter what they try, just will not come off.

Summary
“Hinata, you’ve had a headache for two weeks and haven’t even left the flat in the past three days.”
Which, for someone like Hinata, who spends every waking second doing his best to be a human version of a ping-pong ball, is practically unheard of. Whether it’s for exercise or for errands, he usually spends several hours a day zipping around town. Couch potato just isn’t in his DNA.
Unless it’s time for feeding.
Which he’s been ignoring. For too long. Again.

Hinata Shouyou is a vampire and Kageyama Tobio is his willing biannual blood donor. There's just one teeny tiny problem: Hinata is a very squeamish vampire.

Summary
Hinata tilts his head ever so slightly, eyes sparking. “Bluffing’s a game, Kageyama, you just need to learn how to play it right.”
Kageyama Tobio is a successful defence attorney with everything he needs: a growing career, a steady queue of clients, and a reputation that's going to open doors for him. It's all going well - on paper.
Until one day, when a teenage girl arrives at his office begging him to get her brother off the hook for a murder charge, and Kageyama finds himself defending Hinata Shouyou: a poker player with a reputation for being undefeated.
It should be just another case. But Kageyama, realising that his life in law is perhaps too lonely, too stale, keeps this one client in his life. Because something about Hinata is addicting, and maybe this is just the gamble that he needs to take.

“We have a couple’s special for today! Two drinks and two waffles for the price of one.”

“Sometimes I don’t think I’m a good omega.” Kenma says, poking his bottom lip out in a pout.
“What makes you think that?”
“Sex isn’t enjoyable for me. Omegas typically get wet. Like really wet but I don’t.”
Drunken conversation turns into fuckery.

Summary
Shirtless and free, Hinata reaches up with his right hand and slips his index and middle fingers inside the top of his left compression sleeve, ready to pull it down –
“No.”
Hinata halts at Tobio’s sudden command, eyes flicking over as a curious eyebrow ticks up. Tobio licks his lips again.
“The compression sleeves stay on.”
Hinata continues to watch him, and slowly, his other eyebrow raises.
Tobio leans in, until they’re inches apart. “I won,” he reminds his partner, voice starting to crack from how low it’s getting. “I get to decide. The compression sleeves stay on.”
-
In which Hinata's got new gear. Kageyama always did have a thing for him in volleyball uniform.

Summary
Tobio looks at the space between Kazuyo’s outstretched arm and Miwa’s hands. He looks at the cups stacked in the drying rack; the plastic bottles on the table; the tiles framing the wall above the sink and the small trash box where Tobio got it wrong the other day and put the spoon instead of the yogurt.
(Something in that space.
He is that.)Or: love and loss as two sides of the same coin, and the revolution it creates.

Summary
“No? Should I try something else?” Kuroo’s smirk grows even wider. He leans in closer, shameless in his invasion of Kenma’s personal space. “Maybe compliment your sutures? Or tell you how good you look in your lab coat?”
“I’m sorry but has this worked for you before?” Kenma asks. “Do people really find your flirting attractive? You’re terrible at this!”
It’s a genuine question. Not rhetorical. Kenma’s morbidly curious. This man is hot, but in a threatening kind of way. It’s hard to believe that this is the technique he’s leading with. To be honest, he expected better from a probable crime lord!
For a second, Kuroo just blinks at him. Like he’s never been rejected in his life and isn’t quite sure how to process it. Then—with zero shame and the confidence of a man who probably hits on folks at gas stations—he says, “I’ve never tried to chat up a doctor before! I’m a little nervous!”
(Or: Dr. Kenma Kozume just wants to protect his peace! He can't really do that when a Yakuza boss is insistent on bringing his goons in with increasingly ridiculous injuries with dumb reasons behind them! Was medical school really worth it if this is how his life was gonna turn out?)

Summary
For all these years, he’s been able to read Hinata so well, the only person who has ever come so naturally to him. What he’s thinking, what he really means beneath his teasing words and remarks, what he’s going to do on the court, it’s all a well-read map to Tobio. And even though Hinata is surprising by nature, breaking expectations as easy as breathing, Tobio still knows him. Hinata can take him off guard, but Tobio still knows.
It's an extremely bitter pill to swallow: the knowledge that he might, just maybe, not have all of the pieces to Hinata’s puzzle.
-
Kageyama has always thought that he knows Hinata like the back of his hand. They've been rivals, teammates, and friends for a decade now - what more could there possibly be to learn? But as Kageyama supports Hinata through his grief following an unexpected loss, and volleyball out of the equation, they both realise that there's so much more to know. About each other and their relationship.
Hinata and Kageyama: getting to know each other all over again.
