Summary
“Eddie.” Buck’s voice softened and he reached out, placing a hand on Eddie’s arm.
The warmth of Buck’s touch should have been comforting, but instead, it made the knot in Eddie’s chest tighten. He pulled away.
“I’m fine,” Eddie said, too quickly. “It’s not a big deal.”
(Or: Eddie struggles with his past and the pain of homophobia, but Buck helps him through it)

Summary
He climbed into bed behind Buck, wrapping one arm around his waist and sliding the other under Buck’s head. Buck’s silent tears turned into heavy, wracking sobs that shook his whole body.
“I’m here, Buck. I’ve got you. Let it out,” Eddie murmured, holding him close and repeating the words until Buck’s sobs faded into quiet sniffles.
“I’m sorry. I—I’m sorry for ruining your day,” Buck whispered.
(Or: Buck struggles with suicidal thoughts and Eddie comforts him through it.)

“I’m so sorry,” Eddie muttered, barely audible, shaking his head violently. “I didn’t mean to—God, I almost—”
“No.” Buck’s voice was firm now, a sense of calm breaking through the storm of Eddie’s panic. “No, Eddie, you didn’t hurt me. You didn’t hurt anyone. You didn’t even pull the trigger.”

“It’s tradition,” Karen chimed in, smirking. “You wouldn’t want to upset the Christmas gods, would you?”
Buck glanced at Eddie, his cheeks already flushed. “Uh…”
Eddie shook his head, a small, knowing smile playing on his lips. “What do you think, Buck? Wanna make Hen’s day?”
(Or, a Christmas celebration with the 118)

“Are you new?”
“Y-yeah.” Evan stuttered before his brain connected with his mouth. “My names Evan…er Evan Buck-Buckley.”
The corner of the boys mouth twitched up in an almost smile, “Eddie Diaz.” He told him. “Nice to meet you Evan Buck-Buckley.”
“Oh, er, it’s just Evan Buckley. I just—“
“I’m going to call you Buck.”
Or Buck and Eddie meet in High School, fall in love and choose each other through everything life can throw at them.

Summary
As a masked killer preys upon the first responders of Los Angeles, Buck and Eddie are forced to reevaluate their feelings for each other amid the chaos.
-
It was someone with broad shoulders, dressed in dark pants and a dark jacket. They were wearing what looked like a black mask, and a black hood that covered most of their face. The person didn’t make a sound as they tightened their grip on the ax, pulling it from the shattered remains of the Jeep’s back window and sending shards of glass down onto the ground below. Buck was frozen in place as he watched the person standing over him, their chest rising and falling as they hefted the ax over their head.

Summary
Buck still has gel in his hair from the last shift. He hasn’t had a shower since then. The most he’s done is baby wipes in the places he feels gross. He hopes Eddie doesn’t notice.
“Hey,” Buck says, stuffing the ends of the laces into his boot.
“You didn’t text me this morning,” Eddie turns around and sits on the bench next to Buck. Normally that would make Buck smile, but instead he sticks his head down so Eddie doesn’t see.
“Yeah, I got busy and didn’t realize until I pulled in next to your truck.” Buck lies, easy as anything else. He doesn’t even have to think about it. Buck’s been covering for himself for so long, he kind of hates himself for how second nature lying is, especially to Eddie.
-
Or, Buck has depression, and Eddie knows. Him knowing doesn't help Buck ask for help at all.

—-
Eddie glares at him a moment before looking up at the ceiling with a sigh and a small shake of his head.
“I just-” When the man looks back at him he has a look in his eyes that Buck can't quite read. “I need you to take care of yourself, ok?” He takes a few steps closer towards Buck and he feels how his heartbeat speeds up under his friend´s intense gaze. He stops just a step away from Buck where he's still leaning back on the counter, letting his eyes trail over his face before meeting Buck´s eyes again. “I'm kind of sick of watching you get hurt.” The whisper is raw between them and Buck can´t rip his gaze from the brown eyes staring into his.
