Summary
“...Shunsui?”
“You gonna spit it out, handsome?”
“When you were young…”
“Yeah?”
“...did you ever learn to dance?”Ukitake Jūshirō and Kyōraku Shunsui take a late-night, summertime stroll through the Seireitei - and they find themselves enraptured by the strange, unexpected, and not altogether displeasing sounds - almost like music - coming from the Fifth Division Captain's window.
Put a little differently - Shinji's record player must have been one heck of a novelty at some point, right?
(A sweet, romantic one-shot, set shortly before Turn Back the Pendulum takes place. I've gone back and forth between rating it "M" and "T" - settled on "T," but there are parts that get mildly, mildly suggestive. Thanks!)Bookmarked by anthm_cr

Summary
Because even those of us with hope in our hearts can falter, sometimes.
Set in the immediate aftermath of the Soul Society arc. A shameless and mildly self-indulgent hurt/comfort piece that I started writing in November 2016, when America made some shockingly awful political decisions, and when many of us felt... welp, betrayed. I thought it might be nice to remind everybody (and to remind myself, if I'm honest) that, no matter how bleak things seem, there's always something we can do.
Listen to Kyōraku, my friends. He's a smart man.
