He carefully picks up a small syringe.
“I hypothesized that, with the right chemical influence, the human body could be pushed beyond its natural reproductive capabilities. Specifically, that the male body could be made receptive to conception if the hormonal balance were artificially altered to mimic a receptive cycle.” Mitya draws the substance into the syringe. “As soon as the additive enters my bloodstream, my body will begin to transform.”
“…Are you sure everything will go as it should? Fertilizing a man… that’s biologically impossible.”
“That’s exactly what all the great scientists were told before their judgments were refuted, Valeriy,” Mitya gasps sharply as the liquid enters his blood. “‘Impossible’ is just a word for what we haven’t yet learned to control...”
Valeriy swallows dryly, feeling the alarm sharpen even more. Mitya reaches out and grabs his wrist.
“To prove my theory, I need a catalyst. I need you to fuck me until my pulse gives out, until I prove that I can carry your child.”
