- How Emmet will be getting back to the past, retrieving his brother, and returning to the future
- How the Battle Subway will be able to continue running without either of the Subway Bosses
- How Ingo will be surviving in ancient Sinnoh:
- learning important life skills (by Hisuian standards)
- learning how to climb mountains (this is optional for Emmet, right?)
- getting in shape (this is optional for Emmet, right???)
- Potentially getting sidetracked by a side quest in a lawless wasteland (wait, what?)
- Telling Elesa (we did remember to do that, right?) (oh, shi—)

Summary
With spacetime in Hisui mended, Arceus seeks to remove the errata from the timeline. Unfortunately for Ingo and Akari, that includes them. Unceremoniously dumped with no memory months and regions apart – not even knowing if the other is alive – they must fight to remake their lives.
Rebuilding is much harder when you remember what you've lost.
