It’s minutes before their opening time when the first customer steps in.
They're still standing by the door, though Tanjirou is too busy fetching his apron from under the counter and throwing it on haphazardly to take a good look at them. He breathes in deep after it’s properly tied behind his back, pauses when he catches the scent of cologne laced with the smell of fresh bread permeating the air, and lets it sit in his lungs as he finally looks up.
Just past the threshold is possibly the most beautiful man Tanjirou has ever seen in his life.

Fire flashed in his footsteps as he burst forward like light through a shadow. He was silent on his feet, whereas Rengoku charged forwards with an explosion. He didn't care if it was a dream or not, Tanjirou would not let anyone die. Even if it was at the cost of his own life.
Or Tanjirou saves Rengoku Kyoujurou’s life, but the road to recovery isn’t easy. Though having the Flame Pillar at his side made it all better.
OR, Rengoku Kyoujurou falls in love with the slayer that saved his life.

“Man, Rengoku really is something. We practically have the same hair color, and he’s way more popular than me.” Zenitsu scoffed and picked up the canister of tea, going to pour himself a cupful. He paused when he looked over at Tanjiro. “Tanjiro? You okay? Your face is all red.”
Tanjiro opened his mouth. He tried to find a way to encapsulate everything he was feeling just then, but nothing came to mind. He eventually decided on the simple truth.
“I’m…” Tanjiro clenched his hands around his lunchbox. “I’m going to confess today.”
Zenitsu’s tea erupted from his mouth onto the ground in front of him. Inosuke sat up, paying full attention for the first time all day.
“You what?” Zenitsu wiped his mouth clean with a napkin. “To who? Rengoku?”
