Summary
There it is again, pretty. He’s never really been called pretty before. His mom compliments him all the time, and so do his siblings (though Lo’ak less and only when he’s teasing him). But he’s never been called pretty or anything similar to that by anyone else outside of his family, let alone handsome strangers. But now this strange alpha has called him pretty twice. It has him feeling shy and unsure, not certain on how to behave.

Summary
Ao’nung never thought the forest could feel heavier than the sea. The air is too thick, the ground too soft, and the people… not all of them are thrilled to have him there. But Neteyam watches him differently. Patient, steady, the way sunlight breaks through the branches.
What begins as irritation, at the trees, at himself, at the Omatikaya boy who never falters..slowly shifts into something Ao’nung doesn’t have words for. Something Eywa might have planned all along.
It’s hard to breathe here. Harder still when Neteyam smiles at him.

Summary
Ao'nung doesn't like anyone in that Omaticaya family. They're odd for one reason or another, and get on his nerves. But he's the most unsettled by Neteyam. He was used to rolling his eyes or being otherwise annoyed by the responsibilities that would sometime's come with being the son of the chief of the Metkayina, but coming face to face with Neteyam, another eldest son of much the same status, Ao'nung sees a reflection of himself except better. Someone who accepts the responsibilities he has, and is more than ready to take on more when the time comes. Even when being thrust into a new environment, surrounded by teasing and unfamiliar surroundings, he acts with a grace and dignity that Ao'nung can recognize he's never held once in his life. While thinking about the other members of the Suli family makes him angry, thinking of Neteyam just makes him sick.
"Aren't you embarassed? To be acting like this?"
The words ping-ponged through Ao'nung's head daily since Neteyam had said them to him. Unable to sort out any of his feelings on the other, Ao'nung tried to avoid him as much as possible.
Which isn't as much as he'd hoped.

Summary
Neteyam doesn’t move any closer to the latch of the gate, staying safely behind it where Ao’nung can’t touch him. He hides a smile and tilts his head, his hands lacing together briefly before falling apart.
“And what do we smell like? My magic and I.”
“Cinnamon,” Ao’nung says, low and dark, “and the lake out back.”
“Yeah?” Neteyam responds, fingers curling upwards as he feels power spark behind his palms.
“Mmhmm. I can smell it now. When I saw you do it, it was in the air, but I thought it was the magnolias. Then I touched you like I did, ‘round your waist. Realized it was you.” He drawls.
Neteyam flushes all dark at the memory and Ao’nung counts it as a small victory.
“You pay too much attention to me. You’ve gotta stop.”
“I don’t make it a habit to do what I’m told. Not when it comes to you. I told you that so,” he shrugs, “fair game.”
( the gothic au where the sully siblings are witches and ao'nung is two seconds away from risking it all just to kiss neteyam. )
