Izaya will admit that as much as he despises Shizuo, he does get a thrill from their chases, from dancing at the edge of a cliff. He’ll admit that he occasionally causes problems for the monster on purpose, knowing it will lead to a fight.
He won’t admit that the thrill coursing through him when Shizuo chases, when he glares at Izaya with feral intensity and destroys half the city in pursuit, is more than just adrenaline.

Wei Ying is basically a genius. He always manages to do most things effortlessly, and when he does put in effort, he’s exceptional. He likes parties and drinking and switching minors every semester, making the most of college life. At Yunmeng University, he’s essentially the only pianist with any real chance of making it. He's even gone viral for playing upside down while drunk on vacation, giving him the title "Yiling Virtuoso". So when his professor enters him in a big competition with both a huge cash prize and an internship working on scores for a feature film, Wei Ying is sure he’ll coast through the first round without an issue.
That is, until a transfer student moves in next door and turns his life upside down.
Lan Zhan is everything Wei Ying isn’t; he’s fastidious, studious, tidy, and excessively rule-following. Wei Ying thinks he might be a robot made to hate fun. The two of them would normally never cross paths, but there’s a couple of problems:
Lan Zhan is also a pianist. He’s also participating in the competition. And he’s really, really good.

Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, a grand three-night masquerade ball was to be held. It was the coming of age celebration of the youngest prince, and word quickly spread of the extravagance to be expected. There would be live music played by an orchestra of the highest skill, food cooked by the top chefs in the land, and exquisite wine gathered from around the world.
Wei Wuxian, servant of the noble Jiang family, was forbidden from attending this event. That wasn't going to stop him from going, though; he'd do anything for a good cup of wine. (And, maybe, for a certain stoically handsome, somewhat familiar man he can't seem to leave alone.)

"What do you think about this matter, Hanguang-Jun?" A cultivator to the right asks a question which requires Lan Wangi to formulate a coherent response. He pauses for a few moments as Wei Wuxian's foot continues to knead his crotch.
"I believe," Lan Wangji starts, and Wei Wuxian shifts his toes, dragging them down the length of his bulge and pressing back and forth against it. Lan Wangji barely manages to stifle a gasp, gritting his teeth, and finally grips Wei Wuxian's ankle to prevent him from continuing. "It is a matter too hard to handle alone."
Wei Wuxian smirks. He knows he's won. "I agree. Such an issue requires trusted assistance," he chimes in, blissfully unaware of what he's actually agreeing with.
