Summary
The hideout that the Resistance has found is dark and damp, with rooms and spaces carved out of naked rock and pre-existing underground tunnels. There's no way to sugar coat it: it’s creepy, and disgusting. Every surface is covered in a layer of sticky humidity, with condensation dripping down the walls in an incessant litany of drops, and sewage water can be heard running inside the hidden canals. The high-pitched squealing of rats echoes in the cramped spaces of the tunnels and, sometimes, the sound carries deep inside the inner quarters too (where things are supposed to be in better condition, but in fact, are not).
Everyone hates it. Everyone, except Yoichi.Yoichi, who smiles so sweetly. Yoichi, who never complains when Kudou treats his wounds, not even when the sting of disinfectant burns deep under his skin.
Yoichi, who sleeps with the door of his room wide open, and panics whenever someone tries to close it. (Please, don't. It feels like I'm still in there. Don't close the door, please.)
