But there's a second where V thinks that maybe, just maybe, the Takemura of 2079 resembles the person who was sort of her friend once, and not the person that Arasaka made him.
That second is enough to make her decide to call him back. It’s not like she has much else to lose.

"There are only two rules: One. You do nothing before you have her explicit permission. Two. You do nothing to cause her any discomfort."
Oda returns his gaze to V. Her cheeks are flushed and her eyes are dark with lust.
