But Aether just told me without warning that he will stay over tonight, so...” Lumine explained, but her explanation was convoluted. She was nervous, Ajax noticed, her golden eyes refusing to meet his and her face red. “So what I am saying is… I made too much dinner today… And I am wondering if maybe, just maybe... you can come over and help me finish it?”

Lumine blinked. Just holding hands should be fine, right? She often did it with her brother and friends, for free. And now Childe was offering to pay her for something so simple like that, for seventy thousand mora, no less!

“Great!” With that, Childe swung on his chair, facing her. He was looking up at her, the same self-confident smile on his face. He put his hand in front of him, palm facing up. “Hand.”
This already felt like the start of something foul.
