Rei was stroking, slow and deliberate, through his hair, and Nagisa’s eyes went wide. He wanted to lean into it, to rub his head into Rei’s hand like a cat, but instead he kept himself still, hardly daring to breathe. He knew that Rei was likely just measuring the unacceptable length of it against his fingers, noting the split ends and levels of probable grease. His fingernails, though! They had just grazed Nagisa’s scalp, and his hands, oh no. They tugged at his curls, pulling them sideways for a better look. Shivers spawned from every place on Nagisa's head that Rei’s fingers had touched, vibrating across the back of Nagisa’s neck and down his spine.
“You are extremely overdue for a haircut."

“Oh. “ Kenma said. “Hi.”
Kageyama tensed. He wasn’t sure what came next. He had been to two other parties in his college career, but they’d both ended in awkward exits without anyone noticing or missing him.
They stared at each other for a moment before Kenma stretched into a newer, more upright position. He lowered his phone into his lap and darted his eyes around the room. “You want to pretend we’re talking for a bit?”
Kageyama and Kenma run into each other at a party neither of them want to be at. Their nights turn out differently than they'd thought.

When they were alone, Gansey always looked at Noah like he cared about him, like was curious, and like he was sorry. Noah believed him. Noah didn’t care to know why he was like he was, but he was flattered that Gansey tried to understand it. That was better than Whelk, by the longest shot.
