Taehyun’s heart pounds as he watches the other sign his own name, nervous and anticipating, knowing that this is for the best. That their deal has more benefits than repercussions, unlike the stupid family tradition he has.
Taehyun was 21 years old when he signed that contract. Beomgyu was 22.
Taehyun is marrying him for his dream, and Beomgyu is marrying him for his convenience.

“I never believed in this stupid concept of soulmates! I hate the fact that people are fated to be together! Fate clearly just drove my parents apart.” Beomgyu slammed the floorboards with his hands, enraged. His expression no longer donned that of regret, but instead harboured something of pure spite and indignation. “When I’m older, I don’t care if I’m not the fated partner of another person. No matter what happens to us, I’m going to stay with them instead of succumbing to this ridiculous system!”
Taehyun kept his mouth shut this time.
Beomgyu noticed. “You don’t agree with me.”
“I just don’t want you to get hurt,” Taehyun reasoned, the very consequence of not abiding by destiny having just played out before their eyes. He needed Beomgyu to see that.
Instead, Beomgyu simply shook his head. “But I don’t want to have my life pre-determined by a red string.”
Or,
Taehyun is born with the ability to see the red string of fate. In trying to make sense of nebulous concepts like destiny and soulmates, Beomgyu enters his life, and both of them become swept up in their diverging viewpoints, an irresistible inclination for one another, and the proper meaning of what loving someone truly entails.
