There was still miscommunication between Percy and Annabeth. But when an unexpected and heartbreaking siren attack happens, the young demigods are forced to open up about their emotions, and admit the things that they were keeping from each other.
(inspired by the leaked percabeth fight by the lake and the emotional conversation that's supposed to take place after the Siren scene! also, just so you know, at some point this just stopped feeling canon because they started acting way too sentimental, I think; by the way, what Annabeth saw might be a little different from the book just because, in the show, she seems more lonely, and more "attached" to Percy, in a way)
