Summary
P.S. — Lately I’ve been having this recurring dream. A youth of conceptual death stands by the old dock. He emerges from the ocean, I infer, with eyes the same color as yours. I fail to recall what he came for, but I imagine it is me. I hope it is.
Kaedehara Kazuha is the sole attendant of a lighthouse that once belonged under his family's name. He is trapped, metaphorically and physically, by the isolated island the lighthouse resides on and the grief of his friend's passing: He cannot leave the island, because that is where Tomo is. That is—until a certain stranger appears during the night within the chaos of storm and sea, seeking refuge from his own travails.
a.k.a. Kazuha is a mortal lighthouse keeper afraid of thunder, Scaramouche is a runaway siren, and a lighthouse is falling apart.

Summary
“I am not holding you for ransom,” the man replies coolly, but Wanderer can feel the knife shift within his palm, “You misunderstand. The Shogunate–”
“Will hang us both, it seems,” Wanderer feels the rain drip the blood down his face, “Which seems a punishment fit for traitors.”
“I am no traitor.” the man protests. Flat eyes of a shark almost make Wanderer believe him.
“Don’t patronize me. You’re Resistance.” Wanderer snorts, an oddly breathy thing full of mockery. The blood has started to feel like molten lava burning on his face, his stomach, his legs. “Here, it’s a sin of the same degree. They hang your kind, too.”
In the midst of wartime and turned fugitive on the run, Wanderer forms an unwilling alliance with an estranged resistance soldier to escape capture - well, that is, of course, if Wanderer doesn’t kill him first.
