Summary
When he’s older he’ll recount the same story over a hundred times to nearly everyone who asks. Everyone wants to know what possessed him to climb down into the waters with the boy who was clearly gone, sunk to the bottom of the creek. And when he’s 10 & 11 he’ll insist what he saw was true, that he saw his eyes open, that the boy pulled him under. He wasn’t dead, he just couldn’t ask for help.
When he’s 12, he’ll start to lie.
