Summary
Sunset was the most disruptive time of day for someone who saw the world through a sniper rifle. It turned windows into flat blocks of colour, set the air alight with a haze. In the thirty minutes before and after the sun went down, the penthouse in the shorter building across the street became unknowable despite its massive bank of windows, and so Michael used this time to shower, practice breaking down the rifle as quickly as he could, or visit the convenience store at the corner of the street for necessary stakeout provisions.
