“Hi, Mr. Stark,” Peter says softly. He hooks his ankles around each other and wants nothing more than to take Tony’s hand. He doesn’t.
Tony does. With no hesitation, he grabs Peter’s fingers, tugging on his left hand - his grip is loose and the tug is weak, but Peter still lets himself tilt forward until Tony seems satisfied. Which, as it turns out, isn’t until his face is buried in Tony’s shoulder. His hospital gown makes it just a little difficult for Peter to breathe, but it’s fine. Because he’s here. Just like always. Just like he’s supposed to be.
Apparently, Tony is touchy when he’s high.
Or, Tony is really sweet when he's on anesthesia.

Summary
"We’re going to help you, I promise, but you’ve got to trust me. Do you trust me?”
Peter looks at his mentor, fear written across his face. He raises a shaking hand back to Tony’s chest, and Tony places his hand over the kid’s. Peter closes his eyes and feels the hard surface of the arc reactor against his palm.
Peter doesn’t like soft things, but this isn’t soft. It’s solid and steady and strong and feels like a truth he can believe in. It feels like presence.
“Yeah, I trust you.”
(In which Peter has trouble coping with the events of Infinity War, but a certain Tony Stark is there to help.)

Febuwhump Day 18: damage
“So…did you come up to the top of a building in civilian clothes just to watch the sunset, or is there something going on?”
Peter exhales, breath whistling through his teeth. His webshooters dig into the insides of his wrists, and he doesn’t really know what to say. Doesn’t really know what he’s feeling right now, only that it’s a lot and he thinks better when he’s high up. Something about being so far away from the hustle and bustle of New York clears out a lot of the extraneous noise in his head.
(Some of it always remains, because Peter’s brain has never quite grasped the concept of silence.)
He wasn’t planning on talking this out with anyone, not today. He’s not even sure why Tony is here. But Peter does tend to process faster when he gives voice to his thoughts, so maybe talking to Tony will get him home before May starts to worry.
With his eyes trained on the horizon, Peter says, “Some kid in Health class called me damaged because I asked if people were allowed to not want to have sex.”

Febuwhump Day 21: insomnia
He's not surprised when he finds Peter sitting on the roof of Stark Tower at 2:42 AM.
Maybe he should be. It's not exactly normal to find your adopted kid on top of a 100-story building in the middle of the night, but Peter's never really been one for normal. It's been a while since he's done anything this odd, though - the first few weeks were full of strange occurrences, all varying degrees of disturbing, but things have leveled out since.
Tonight, apparently, they're backsliding.
