Summary
Olivia Benson is sitting across the bar.
It’s just something that Rita has noticed, watching her turn away the few people who have approached her, apparently happy to sit at the bar alone, slowly sipping her single glass of red and staring into space.
She's tempted to try her own luck.
(Neither of them have any idea of all the ways their impulsive one night stand is about to change their lives).

Summary
As awful as she feels, she manages to gather enough energy to stand, reminding herself that her son will be up at any moment, expecting Christmas.
What she is not expecting is to emerge out of her bedroom and realize that she really was smelling pancakes because Rafael Barba is standing in her kitchen, staring down at her stove.

I spend nights stitching up the loose threads in my soul
Olivia is Spider-Man, Rafael is Spider-Man, Rita is their woman in the chair.
A collection of non-linear one shots in that universe.
In the first chapter, Rafael falls off a bridge.

Summary
Rita sighs.
"How exactly do two otherwise competent and responsible adults end up with a marriage, an apartment, and two children without ever actually talking about their feelings?"
Rafael leans forward until his forehead rests against the coffee table.
"I think it was supposed to be a joke."
She sighs again. "This is the most inconvenient marriage of convenience in the history of the institution."
