A slight reimagining of the ladder truck bombing and aftermath - where Buck has some PTSD struggles and unexpected *embarrassing* after effects and the people he loves show up for him even when he tries to hide (and even if they tease him a little in the process). This generally sticks to canon so Eddie and Buck are not a couple, but they're every bit as seemingly in love as they are in the actual show - the focus for them in this fic will be non-romantic but feel free to see whatever you want under the surface.
This is my first 911 story and my first fanfic in years. It's going to have multiple chapters (also new for me!) - so this one just kind of sets the stage. I'm also already planning a follow up series. Basically, I love embarrassed!Buck and this is the weird way my brain chose to explore it. Please read the tags! I'll add new ones as I go.

On the outside, he acts like he's okay, but his fear is catching up with him in a particularly embarrassing way. Iris is there to remind him that she loves him... even in wet pajamas. (Look there just weren't any stories about The Flash that touched on this idea and I wanted one so I wrote it.)

He watches with dread as a frown line appears between Tommy’s brows and immediately starts rambling “Oh god you’re mad. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything, I just wanted to be honest with you Tommy. I didn’t want to lie and -”
And when Tommy kisses him purely for the sake of shutting him up, Buck’s mind temporarily blue-screens. So when Tommy says that he says next, Buck spends several long moments blinking stupidly as he tries to parse the meaning.

“Buckley, you stay behind!” Gerrard yelled from somewhere behind them. Buck rolled his eyes and turned around, staring the captain down. He was sick of it, he wished Bobby was back.
"I haven’t been on a call in weeks!” Buck exploded, quickly realising that the only thing stopping him from landing a punch on his smug face was the fact that Eddie had his hand on his shoulder, rubbing circles on it with his thumb.
“Because fairies don’t fight fires, Buckley. I’m not having any goddamn queer on my rig. You’ll probably just stand and flirt with whoever gives you attention anyway. Isn’t that what all you so-called bisexuals do? Sleep with whoever will have you?” Buck felt his hands curl up info a fist. Eddie or no Eddie, he’d happily land one on that bastard’s cheek in a minute. He’d rather be fired than stay in this place one more minute.
OR
Buck is sick of being man behind because he's bi, so the 118 do what they do best - stick together! And if that means pretending to be queer, then so be it...

Buck sighs again, even louder and longer and noisier this time. “Eddie’s shoes,” he clarifies, through gritted teeth. “I—I usually tie them. For him.”
More silence, this time somehow more deafening. Buck inspects a stray line of grout until he can’t bear it anymore, then looks up for judgment.
Chim’s eyebrows are sky-high. “You’ve been tying Eddie’s shoes?” he repeats, strangled and high-pitched. “Regularly?”

Tommy strides in the unlocked door to find the delightful treat of Evan shirtless on the sofa with his jeans unbuttoned. "Mm, starting without me?" Tommy asks, leaning down to kiss Evan. Evan smells like sweat and, honestly, a little like come, which—he knows Evan is quick the first time, so he's not going to complain if Evan got himself off already, knowing Tommy was on his way over and wanting to make things last longer between them. Maybe Evan will tell him what he was thinking about; that could be a fun game. Tommy usually likes to direct things, but he’s open to ideas—
And then Eddie fucking Diaz walks out of the bathroom in a towel and a cloud of shampoo-scented steam.
"Hey Tommy," Eddie says, like they're running into each other at the supermarket.
Tommy's brain entirely shuts down for a long hanging second. Before it reboots, he blurts out, "Did you guys have sex?"
