Summary
The morning before a family camping trip, everything between Mike and Will feels wrong.
After a comment about sharing a tent goes horribly sideways, Will pulls away—quiet, distant, hurt. Mike insists he didn’t mean it like that, but every instinct he has makes things worse. A step back in the kitchen. A seat apart in the car. Silence where there used to be ease.
Four days. One tent. Nowhere to run.
As the Wheeler and Byers families head into the woods, tension builds in cramped car rides, and half-finished conversations. Will is exhausted from feeling unwanted. Mike is terrified of admitting why he cares so much.
And if he doesn’t figure it out soon, he might lose Will for real.
