“No.” The words barely pass his lips, the way Baelor’s teeth are pressed together. One of his hands reaches for Maekar, digging into the fabric of his sleeve, then his thigh.
“I cannot bear to see you with another. Not again.”

After Valarr's and Matarys' death, King Baelor needs an heir. Luckily, he has a brother willing to provide one.

Maekar wants to scream. Baelor has not seen how close their family came to damnation and ruin, but Maekar has, he is reminded of it every time he closes his eyes.
