At first, Pantalone had dismissed it as a coincidence that his favourite blend of tea, the rare one with flowers from Sumeru, was always stocked in Dottore’s lab. Yet this pattern extended further, to snacks, nearby books, the ones he read while waiting for the doctor to finish his work, and even the dark purple upholstery of his current seat. All of this was chosen according to his tastes.
Five times Pantalone didn't recognize Dottore.

The Aranara research took an interesting turn on Dottore when he found himself creating a child version of himself, in order to attract the naughty fungi.
However, when he's forced to erase his segments but (oddly enough) the child survives, will he be able to take care of the babe on his own? Or will a certain banker lend him an helping hand? Only time will tell.

It was not impossible. While he created the past in his own segments, theoretically, of course, he would be able to meet one of his own futures.
Dottore chuckled. “Hehe, fascinating. So there are in fact existences of myself in future timelines.”
“I trust you will know what to do?” the other him asked.
All projected and modeled possibilities lead to his own demise. Why was Pantalone, a simple human, such a key variable? Then for the greater goal of his own continued existence, it seems he must comply with his other selves’ demands.
“What do you have in mind?” he inquired from his other self.
They had reached the same conclusion.
