She regards me thoughtfully. “I don’t see a canary or a packed case, Miss Undersee,” she says. “Have you come for a sweetheart?”
The day after New Year's, Madge Undersee goes to the Hawthornes' to talk business. A parallel fic to When the Moon Fell in Love with the Sun, with references to previous chapters.
