Who the hell was breaking into my hotel? Contract killers? Business rivals? I snapped the gun and silencer together, pressing my ear against the door, wishing I had my wand. I could hear muffled voices. Women- they were not being quiet. Fucking amateurs.
I threw the door open but was met with darkness. I was overtaken from my blind side by a flurry of long legs and hair. I grabbed her in a bear hug, rolling over my back. Her knee found purchase in my stomach. She managed to escape, blocking and jabbing on her way. I grabbed her ankle, yanking her back. She landed a kick on my hand, stabbing her stiletto into the meat of my palm. She wrenched out of my grasp. Her shoe came off in my grip. She threw a candelabra at me. I threw the shoe at her. I gave up trying to subdue her and came to terms with the fact that I might have to shoot my way out this thing- whatever the hell this thing was.
She tried spinning away. I grabbed her shoulder, pressing my Glock firmly into her chest. She met me with a gun of her own, resting against the shaft of my dick. The lights clicked on.
"Granger?”
