    Many years after the Great Kishin War, life in Death City has grown quite routine. While still roommates and partners on paper, Maka Albarn’s job as an Assistant Professor and Soul Evans’s eponymous status as The Last Death Scythe have them spending the majority of their time apart, and yearning for the good old days of fighting evil and saving the world together.

    Enter Black Star and his latest, greatest idea - a week-long vacation with the whole gang to Las Vegas for his birthday, to which Soul and Maka both reluctantly agree. As the trip unfolds and the two estranged partners start to reconnect, the flames of something perhaps more than friendship begin to grow. Will they come away from this vacation stronger and closer than ever, or will what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas?

    (An idea basically born from the question of what would happen if the Soul Eater gang went to Vegas to break up the monotony of adulthood, and it was also a SoMa rom-com?)
