To Billy, Lighter says, “I’d love to spar with you and all, but…unfortunately, Wise promised me something a little special today. Isn’t that right,” here, he places a hand against Wise’s waist, cocking a brow at him, “sweetheart?”
And Wise—sweet, beautiful Wise—bites the bait.
He bites the bait so hard that Lighter falters when he feels that smaller hand tangling with his own, twining their fingers together in a blatant show of intimacy. Wise even leans into him, his back pressing against Lighter’s chest, as he tells Billy with a smile,
“Sorry to say this, Billy, but Lighter’s right. I promised him a special service today, since he asked for a reward last time we talked.”
Wise prepares something "more special" for Lighter, as promised.

He has had his fair share of Operators’ myriad of voices. Yet, none of them can rival the current pleasantness in his ear that fills him with the itch to hear more.
Before he can get a word in, his earpiece crackles once more.
“Sorry, that must have been a rude thing to say as a first greeting. I’m Phaethon, and I’ll be your Operator starting from today. Pleasure to meet you, Agent Lorenz.”
[Or: Special Agent!Lighter is assigned to a new Operator. It’s hard to not be intrigued by the man when Lighter constantly has the calm and deceptively gentle voice in his ears. Too bad it’s easier to crack open a safe than prying any semblance of personal details from the ever-elusive Phaethon.]
