She rattles off her rehearsed lines, and Katya watches with amusement, wondering how many times she's said those exact phrases today.
"Sure, come on in." Katya doesn't wait for her to say anything, just pushes herself off the door frame and disappears into the house. She hears a surprised little oh behind her, and then a second pair of heels clacking on the hardwood floor, the front door closing.
(On the surface, Katya is a bored housewife who gets a visit from her new Avon consultant Trixie. Actually, things are more complicated.)
