Jeff let his mind wander to thoughts of how they would develop Harry’s image in the coming months. He had the benefit of knowing his client very very well, better than a standard manager might. But with that familiarity came awareness of some things that Harry may not want out in the world. Or maybe he did. Jeff still couldn’t figure it out. He hadn’t yet asked Harry specifically how much of himself he wanted to put out there as a solo artist, or how honest he wanted to be.

“I don’t think our management will be too happy with me,” Harry said with a smirk.
“What do you mean?” Nick asked as he handed Harry a cup of black coffee before pouring sugar into his own, “They don’t want you to speak to the nation while still drunk from the night before? I can’t imagine why not.”
Harry laughed, putting his head in his hand, “At least I got some promo in, right?”

Anne couldn’t believe she was sitting in a green room backstage at Madison Square Garden. It felt like she had blinked and all of a sudden Harry was everywhere. Back home she saw his face at the store on the cover of magazines and on the t-shirts and lunchboxes of girls at the local park, but he was rarely actually with her anymore. The band was jet setting around the world, having amazing experiences and doing incredible things, but also being away from home and away from their families.

2011 - Louis
Louis was grateful for his friend who always managed to keep them well fed. Louis had no doubt that without Harry he would subsist on a diet of cereal and tea and not much else.
“I knew I kept you around for a reason,” Louis said as he took a seat on one of the stools at their kitchen island. “I’m pretty sure pancakes are what they mean when they say ‘friends with benefits’.”
Harry’s eyes sparkled as he turned around and smiled at Louis. He held the spatula up and waved it around in a jaunty circle. “They’ll be ready in a few, Lou,” he said, smiling at his own rhyme.

It wasn’t the first time Harry and Nick were cut off before they really got started talking. In fact, it seemed to be happening more often than not. Nick had an insane schedule that no rational person would choose, but Harry's was even worse. Between the early mornings on The Breakfast Show and the never-ending time zone changes of tour, it seemed that Harry and Nick weren’t really meant to have any real conversations these days.
