“That’s different. And none of your business,” Yeonjun said, watching Beomgyu slide down his zipper. “What, jealous you’re not the only one?”
Beomgyu stilled for a second. “Why would I be? You’re still here.” A sliver of pity coated his tone as he muttered, “Still crawled back to me.”
or; A bitter Yeonjun returns to his hometown one month prior to his enlistment. It’s no coincidence that the B&B he chose to stay at is owned by his ex Beomgyu.

It was only muted jargon after that. Scientific words that meant nothing to him at all, thrown all around him. But then it was words he knew like scent failure and low blood pressure and danger to himself. Then it was flashing lights in his eyes to check his pupils and needles in his scent glands to draw out pheromones, and blood tests over blood tests.
By the time they were done, it came to one conclusion that he understood only when his manager laid it down for him in simple words.

“I don’t pity you,” Yeonjun spoke softly. He loosened his grip on Beomgyu’s wrist, letting the younger go. “Staying up late just sounds lonely.”
Beomgyu held his stare, and even though Yeonjun released him, he didn’t step back. “Well, the medication should help with that, too.”
“Gyu-yah,” Yeonjun hesitated. He looked into the younger’s eyes and felt his own expression soften. “Next time you can’t fall asleep, come knock on my door instead of taking refuge on the couch.”
Beomgyu, a third year music major, battled more than just insomnia. During winter break, he learned his new situation would lead well beyond sleepless nights. And while his friends remained unaware, Beomgyu knew he had eroded down to a single grain of the man he used to be. Though one person noticed his change in character, offering up his bed as a safe haven.
