This fic is designed as a bridge after Black Widow partnered on missions with the Winter Soldier, through her tenure at S.H.I.E.L.D, & including MCU’s 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.' For those following my fics, this is a narrative one-off after my Wolves At the Door series, just before the anticipated events of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and a prequel to 'Captain America: Civil War'. (But you don't need to have read that to enjoy this!)
In this fic, I touch on Peggy Carter & the SSR, and include many other MCU references. Cameos from many in 'Agents of SHIELD.'
Folks wanting to jump right into the events of CA:TWS can go to Chapter 17.
Comic 616 storylines made MCU-plausible. Mature sexual situations. Comments are always appreciated.

“Yes, JARVIS, what do you want?” Really, he needs his sleep, supersoldier or not.
“Sir, I am terribly sorry to bother you, but agent Barton is not presently available and I’m very worried about ms Romanoff.”
He sat up. “Continue.”
“Ms Romanoff’s heart rate and temperature have been elevated for more than thirty minutes and she doesn’t respond to audio- or visual stimuli when I try to wake her up.”
