Summary
Natasha Romanov (Black Widow) remembers the dark events of her youth and her pre-S.H.I.E.L.D career. This is an ongoing "catch all" for Natalia's early Academy/Red Room days. (Written before 'Age of Ultron', so is not exactly MCU compliant).
Abandoned WIP.
Because this is a Black Widow back-story, things are pretty horrible and pretty dark and sometimes traumatic in this one. Nothing is explicitly described, but you've been warned.

After the completion of a deadly mission in Yugoslavia, a young Natalia (Natasha) Romanov and the Winter Soldier/Asset are stranded in Romania's Carpathian mountains during a freak early-September snowstorm. Depending on each other for survival, their relationship changes in the crucible of each others company.
An original James "Bucky" Barnes / Natasha Romanoff tragic romance. MCU/Comic blend.

This fic is designed as a bridge after Black Widow partnered on missions with the Winter Soldier, through her tenure at S.H.I.E.L.D, & including MCU’s 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.' For those following my fics, this is a narrative one-off after my Wolves At the Door series, just before the anticipated events of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and a prequel to 'Captain America: Civil War'. (But you don't need to have read that to enjoy this!)
In this fic, I touch on Peggy Carter & the SSR, and include many other MCU references. Cameos from many in 'Agents of SHIELD.'
Folks wanting to jump right into the events of CA:TWS can go to Chapter 17.
Comic 616 storylines made MCU-plausible. Mature sexual situations. Comments are always appreciated.

Summary
It has been just over a year since S.H.I.E.L.D. fell and the Winter Soldier disappeared from the banks of the Potomac in Washington DC. While not teaming up with the Avengers, Natasha takes side-missions to fund her private safe houses and aliases. She didn’t expect Bucky Barnes to come out of hiding, hiring her to break the encryptions on a number of HYDRA files he had stolen.
Uncertain of his motives, Natasha agrees to the job only if he accompanies her to an isolated location within the Rocky Mountains. In the days that it takes for her to hack the drives, Natasha struggles with her feelings for a man who remembers nothing of her. Bucky struggles with rebuilding his own self-identity and his attraction to Natasha. What they eventually uncover from HYDRA has deadly implications.
Alternating Bucky & Natasha POVs. Wilderness settings. Cozy cabins. PTSD. And at least one wolf.
MCU/Comic 616 Fusion, with the Winter Soldier and Natasha having a shared Red Room history that she remembers but he doesn’t.
Active WIP - Updated every few weeks.
Warning: Contains mentions of attempted suicide. I'll flag the most intense chapters as needed.
