    It all starts when Bakugou aims a palm in Denki’s general direction, nitroglycerin rising from his pores in preparation for a threatening explosion, but electricity crackles above his skin and jolts him instead.

    Everyone freezes for a moment that feels like it goes on forever, and Denki feels a distinct sense of dread settle over him. This is it, he thinks, he’s gonna get murdered by a hothead who got his hands on Denki’s quirk, and it’s probably all his own fault.

    “Kaminari,” Bakugou says ominously, palms sparking with energy in a way so similar to his normal explosions, yet so different with another power coursing through him. “Use your quirk,” he commands.
