„Taesan?“ Leehan repeated, both to make sure he heard correctly and to test the name around his tongue. „I don’t remember seeing him in the Aphrodite cabin when we went in to introduce myself during the tour.“
Jaehyun froze.
Then, he laughed.
A big, childish, high-pitched laugh. Loud enough, Woonhak, one of the actual Hermes children and close friend of Jaehyun, shoved him for it.
„Sorry, sorry! I just…“ Jaehyun wiped a tear from his face. „It’s just…wow. I didn’t expect you to be so…I don’t know. Smooth?“
„What do you mean?“ Leehan asked. „Stop talking in riddles.“
„Hey, if there’s anyone in camp that talks in riddles, it’s him. Taesan.“ Jaehyun took a sip from his drink and handed a second cup to Leehan. „He’s a son of Dionysus, not Aphrodite. Though, let’s be honest, he does have the face for it.“

The words fell into space like a stone in a motionless lake. Taesan didn’t process them right away. His mind, still clouded by the heat of the previous minutes, could not connect the sound to a precise sense. He looked at him, his eyes barely squinted, his lips still moist and slightly open, unable to understand if he was dreaming or if Leehan had really said what he thought he had heard.

“Long time, no see,” Taesan quips. Leehan’s pout only deepens, and he shifts the rifle on his shoulder. “You know, I’m pretty sure your aim was off. If I hadn’t moved, you would have blown my brains out.”
“Maybe I should have,” Leehan retorts, waspish.
Taesan never let himself imagine what their reunion would be like, but if he had, it wouldn’t have been anything like this. But the fact that they’re reunited at all has Taesan in high spirits, and so he only finds Leehan’s grumpiness endearing. He lets one hand wander to Leehan’s chest, playing idly with the zipper of his jacket. “Let me make it up to you,” he croons.

It’s a big galaxy out there, but somehow, Taesan and Leehan keep finding their way back to each other.

“I can’t give you time, but I bet you to give me five reasons to stay here more than a year. To take root and become a flower or whatever the hell you said,” he moves his fingers nonchalantly, looking at something beyond Leehan – anything other than the god-like face in front of him.
“Five reasons?” Leehan asks, Taesan nods. A smile unfurls at the corner of Leehan’s lips, almost as if he’s already tasting victory before even knowing where he’s getting into. “That will be a piece of cake.”
Taesan never stays in a planet more than a year, but Leehan is set on changing his mind. With a bet put between the strange friendship they develop in the months he spends in the planet, Taesan can't help but question and face things that he never did before in his life — and fall in love with Leehan in the process.
