Summary
Jason has quite a few gaps in his memory from his time before the grave. Probably all the head trauma. It’s not something that’s really affected him much. How could he miss something that he doesn’t know is missing? But sometimes something will hit him; usually when he can’t sleep, when he’s up, staring at his wall.
After retrieving a concerning memory of Bruce and Dick, Jason confronts Dick about it. Dick does what he’s been doing for the past twenty years (see title).

Summary
Helena’s always had these big blue eyes, and she used to look up at him just like that… like she’s always trusted him to take care of her since before she even knew what it meant to be vulnerable.
"I don't want another man touching you."
"Another?"
Dick is having a hard time accepting that his baby sister grew up.
(it's actually so important to me that everyone knows they teased age gap stepcest in canon)

Summary
He says, “It’s okay,” soothingly. It could be a meaningless phrase of comfort, but Bruce doesn’t say things without meaning.
“No, it’s not, it’s not—” he cries, his voice muffled.

Summary
She rolled her eyes, refusing to feel stupid for this. “You could at least be civil, asshole. We are technically siblings.”
Dick’s taunting face suddenly turned cold and stony. “I’m not Bruce’s son. You’re not my sister. You’re just another orphan living in this house.”
Her first meeting with Dick was something awkward and carefully orchestrated, but that’s usually the one that comes to mind most when she thinks about the beginning of their relationship.Jay thought it was a dream come true when she was picked up off the street by the richest guy in Gotham, especially when he proved himself to be a decent man. The only problem is the asshole who lives down the hall from her.
Bruce and Dick had a good thing going for almost seven years before he decided to take in a random kid, and Dick makes his problem with it abundantly clear.
She hits puberty eventually.
(Temporary hiatus! ISTG it's temporary, I have the entire story planned out and I will be finishing it, but I'm taking a break to write other fics atm)

Summary
“It still…” She swallows tightly, the corners of her mouth fighting to downturn. She fights her quivering chin and speaks, “It would kill me. To do that again.”
He has a duty to uphold as Nightwing. He owes it to Bruce, to the Titans, to his city. It’s why he could only dream of starting a family, because it would be selfish to do that, to put his happiness above anything.

Summary
She looks up at the cuffs again— his hands are stiffly sticking out of them, a ghostly shade of white. This is going to hurt.
Steph closes her eyes, her whole body going cold. When she slipped her cuffs, she didn’t have time to feel it. She lost consciousness so fast she barely remembers hitting the ground.
Out of all of the Bats, Steph doesn't know why she had to be the one to find Nightwing chained to a wall. It's not like she knows anything about healing from torture.

Summary
Her eye flutters shut when he leans down to kiss her. It feels innocent and chaste compared to the flat tongue Slade has pressed between her legs.
Nightwing would never do this, so it’s probably a good thing that he’s Renegade right now.
Slade, Rose, and Dick stop at a hotel for the night and things escalate.

Summary
She smiles, but covers it with an awkward laugh. She won’t say “thank you,” because she doesn’t want to accept the compliment. It makes him sad. He has the sudden urge, the need for her to believe that he thinks she looks nice. He looks down at her outfit again; the thin material of the dress causes it to cling to her curves. Really nice.
Instead of “thank you,” she says, “I don’t think you need me to tell you how hot you are.”
Tensions are high at the manor after a holiday dinner. Steph accidentally gets caught in conversation with an inebriated Dick, and maybe she drinks a little too much as well.

He keeps his back to her. “You shouldn’t be in here with the fumes.”
“Slade—” She cuts off her aggression to sigh deeply before asking. “Is your father dying?”
In the dead silence, he takes the entire gun apart and puts it back together again before saying, “It seems likely.”
