Perhaps that's why he agreed to be the best man at Phoenix Wright's wedding. Even after all these years, some things stay the same. Miles Edgeworth is a coward who could never deny Wright anything.Even if it means watching the love of his life marry someone else.

The problem is this: He is a very self-aware person, and he knows exactly when he acts rash, irrational, foolish or just plain self-destructive. But all this knowledge doesn't prevent it from happening. Again and again.
The worst part is that, even with all his self-awareness, he didn't think that confessing his feelings towards Wright would turn out to be rash, irrational, foolish, deeply self-destructive in any way.

Phoenix grips the edge of his sink. He doesn’t look at his mirror. He can’t. Even if he wanted to, he fucking can’t.
A tear joins the blood flowing dripping from his lip. He doesn’t even know if it’s blood. Maybe he has blue blood. Dark, inky blue blood flowing in his veins and the stems and leaves in his lungs, giving those stupid fucking flowers that stupid fucking color. Why can’t it be red? Why can’t it be normal? Why can’t anything go back to being fucking normal?
He heaves and vomits ink and blue hydrangea petals and flushes it down the drain. He’d forgotten to take his medicine.
