Summary
It’s been three months now since Eddie moved onto the property given to him in his grandfather’s will. He’d been going through a bit of a crisis at the time, having just broken off his 3-year engagement with Myra and realized he was gay and quit his job. Everything had been very bad at the time, but Eddie had been high on the adrenaline of making drastic life choices. What he should have done, probably, was sell the property and the farmhouse and then used that money to restart his life in the city, where he had prospects and applicable skills. But instead he packed up his shit and moved to Derry, population almost-zero, to the farm he spent his summers on until his dad died and hasn’t seen since then, deciding to...become a farmer. Or something.
OR: a sort of vaguely Stardew Valley/Harvest Moon AU, because why not

The kid grinned, and Eddie saw the flash of sharp canines. “I’m Richie,” he said. “You have a really shitty pair of tails, you know that, right?”
Eddie blinked at him. “You mean my legs?” he said.
“Oh, is that what you call them?” said Richie. “I just need the one tail.” And he leaned back, a little, and Eddie saw an unmistakable fishtail with iridescent scales and translucent fins break the surface of the water.
“Holy fucking shit,” he whispered.

Richie nodded, face glowing even more with embarrassment.
