There was a peculiar bliss Sanemi felt each time he took this stray path. It wasn’t a bliss that caused him anticipation or enjoyment; rather, it brought a delightful churn to his innards. With it came a numbing sensation he’d only equivocate the symptoms of as to deceive doctors of the true reason he felt this way. His palms sweat more with each step — he blamed it on the humidity that always preceded a tempest — his legs felt numb — he blamed it on the relaxation of knowing this was his final task of the day — his heart beat quicker — that one, he ignored.
